Athlone was a hive of activity last weekend as AIT Campus played host to the first weekend of the 2015 HSE Community Games National Festival.  Thousands of competitors, managers, volunteers and supporters from across the country travelled to take in the fun atmosphere and compete in a variety of sporting and cultural events.  Last weekend saw future soccer stars take to the pitch, budding artists with bundles of creativity, swimmers taking to their lanes and aspiring actors hitting the stage among many many other events.

County Monaghan had strong representation throughout the weekend in a wide multitude of activities.  We were represented in Art, Swimming, Draughts, Rounders, Pitch n Putt, Indoor Soccer, Futsal, Table Quiz, Skittles, Recitation, Handwriting and Tag Rugby.  Well done to all who competed, to their managers and to all supporters who travelled for the various events.

We had great results with County Monaghan taking home a grand collection of medals – five Golds, three Silvers, four Bronze and six 4th Place medals.  Huge Congrats to all.
