Young people from around the county interested in their local environment recently took part in Monaghan County Council’s ECO Camp which is now becoming very much an annual event.

This year over 150 young people took part in the summer camps in Glaslough, Ballinode, Monaghan, Castleblayney and Carrickmacross.

Activities undertaken included, vegetable gardening workshops, art from waste workshops, engagement with local river catchments and the painting of murals with a recycling messages in Castleblayney and Carrickmacross. All those that took part are very proud of their efforts. The scheme would not be possible without the kind help of voluntary groups that provided much needed assistance.
