MINISTER HUMPHREYS SPELLS OUT PLANS FOR 2016 CENTENARY

LOCAL Fine Gael Dail deputy and Minister for Arts Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys has encouraged local people, including community groups throughout counties Cavan and Monaghan, to get involved in the huge programme she has outlined this week for the Ireland 2016 centenary celebrations.
On Tuesday last the Minister joined An Taoiseach Enda Kenny T.D., and Tánaiste Joan Burton T.D., as well as Minister of State, Aodhain Ó Ríordáin T.D. in publicly announcing details of the programme.
Minister Humphreys revealed yesterday (Wed) she was also engaged in ongoing discussions with senior county officials, in Monaghan and Cavan to help a local plan being devised in each county for the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising.
