NEARLY 1,000 PEOPLE GET JOBS AS… CO. MONAGHAN BODY REVEALS REMARKABLE RESULTS FOR 2014

REMARKABLE results have emerged for the past year from a leading Co. Monaghan development body which has revealed in its annual report that a total of 3,657 individuals throughout the border county were directly supported, with 993 steered into employment, and 260 local enterprises also effectively assisted during 2014.

Monaghan Integrated Development (MID) revealed this week that 419 people were helped into jobs,   89 into self-employment, and 488 people into community employment on RSS/Tús/CE schemes.

The report also disclosed that 1,513 training courses were completed, a total of   260 enterprises supported, and   37 local initiatives progressed in the county, amid a wide-ranging programme of activities that included schools programmes, volunteer centre events, and   Peace III Integration events.

The report also revealed that a total of 198 group supports were delivered during the year.
