A CAPACITY crowd of up on 450 people attended the recording TV3’s ‘The People’s Debate’ in Cootehill’s Errigal Country House Hotel on Monday night (the show was broadcast at 10pm last night, Wednesday 25th).

Fine Gael’s Monaghan-based TD Sean Conlan broke the apparent moratorium on the party’s TDs or representatives appearing on the Vincent Browne show, and he was joined on the top table by Sinn Féin’s Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin and Brendan Smith of Fianna Fáil.

Fine Gael’s locally based Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys did not show up, however, nor did her Cavan-based colleague, Deputy Joe O’Reilly TD.

Deputies Ó Caoláin, Smith and Conlan all made it clear that they are intending to run for their respective parties in the next election, while members of the audience were later invited to participate, bringing …..
