This Spring Clean Monaghan County Council along with Monaghan Tidy Towns and special dog poo ambassador Scooby Doo would like to draw dog owners’ attention to the litter problems associated with dog fouling, especially along the new Monaghan Greenway. According to Monaghan County Council’s Dog Warden Oliver McPharland “All dog owners should keep their dogs on a lead and scoop their dogs poop when in any public area such as the Monaghan Greenway”

Monaghan Tidy Towns spokesperson Cheryl Gormley said “It would make dog ownership a lot easier if dogs cleaned up after themselves, but as we all know, they don’t. Many people don’t realise that under the Litter Pollution Act it is an offence punishable with a €150 on the spot fine if you fail to clean up after your do”.
