A local family is flying the flag for Co Monaghan by appearing in an RTE TV show.

Four members of the McNally family from Skinnagin, Tyholland can be seen participating in ‘Ireland’s Fittest Family,’ the first episode of which aired last Saturday evening on RTE 1.

Owen, Therese, Grainne and Ronan McNally were one of twelve families selected to take part in ‘Ireland’s Fittest Family’ which searched the country for the fittest, fastest, strongest families.

They underwent physical and scientific testing to qualify for this extreme fitness competition.

Over six weeks the families will compete against each other on the toughest endurance courses in the country. After each event the weakest family will be eliminated, until there is just one family standing. The winning family will walk away with a €15,000 cash prize and the title of Ireland’s Fittest Family 2013.

The McNallys are a well-known family as they are heavily involved in the GAA. Therese and Grainne both play for the Monaghan Ladies team while Ronan, who is Grainne’s twin, is also a footballer and won …
