AGL LOGISTICS CEASES TRADING WITH THE LOSS OF SEVEN JOBS IN MONAGHAN

AGL Logistics, with a depot in Milltown, has ceased trading with the loss of seven jobs.

The Kildare-based haulage company informed staff on Thursday last that it was ceasing operations.
One of the workers, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Northern Standard that he was one of seven drivers based in  Monaghan who were let go —Four delivery drivers, two same-day drivers and one night trunk driver were affected.

 The first indication that there was a problem came when employees did not get paid before the October Bank Holiday Weekend. They didn’t work Mondays, so they had Tuesday off in lieu of the Bank Holiday Monday.

 According to our source, employees were promised that they would receive their pay on Tuesday and Wednesday, but it didn’t come. After working full shifts on Wednesday and Thursday they received the news that their jobs were gone.
