CONTINUING SIGNS OF RECOVERY IN MONAGHAN CONSTRUCTION SECTOR

Co Monaghan has recorded the third highest increase in the country in planning applications according to a new survey, which indicates that there are positive signs of recovery in the county’s construction sector.

The latest edition of the National Housing Construction Index compiled and issued by Link2Plans shows Co Monaghan recording a 4% increase in planning applications for the first eight months of this year.
Last year planning applications in the county were down –13%, with commencements falling by –24%, but this year the rate of commencements performed slightly less badly, although still falling at a rate of –19%.
