COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL GIVES BACK TO LOCAL COMMUNITY PROJECTS

The Monaghan Town Country Music Festival committee is delighted to be able to donate €20,000 from the 2013 festival funds to 14 very worthwhile local charities.

The beneficiaries are: The Monaghan branches of The Alzheimer Society, MS Ireland, Special Olympics, St Vincent de Paul, The Open Door Centre, Monaghan Wellness Centre, Monaghan Garda Youth Diversion Project, Local Latch-on Management Group Monaghan Downs Syndrome, Cuan Mhuíre, Errigal Truagh Special Needs Parents & Friends, National Learning Network, The Arch Club, Monaghan Cancer Treatment Support and Tuesday Club Monaghan.

The nine member festival committee consisting of Chairman, George Wright, Secretary, Julie Brannigan, Liam Stirrat, Willie McKenna, Pat McKenna, Barra Flynn, Cllr Donal Sherry, PJ McDermott and Peadar McAdam would like to again express their appreciation and a special thank you to the large number of people who helped make a success of the festival by generously giving so much of their time and expertise free of charge up to and over the festival weekend. A sign of community spirit alive and well in the North Monaghan area!

Along with Monaghan Gardaí, Monaghan County Council, Monaghan Town Council, festival contributors and the many weekend supporters, the festival committee members thank you all.
