MONAGHAN ESCORT SET FOR TRALEE

It is safe to say that Co Monaghan will be well represented at the Rose of Tralee Festival later this month.
In addition to Monaghan Rose Eleanor McQuaid flying the flag for the county, a Ballinode man will also act as an Escort.
David McGettigan, who is son of John and Verona, works as Graduate Sports Rehabilitator and has his own private clinic in Ballinode.

The 26-year-old told the Northern Standard that he was encouraged by his relation, Monaghan Rose Centre co-ordinator, Eoin Treanor to put himself forward for the Escort selection for the past number of years so David decided that 2013 was going to be the year.

“I’m glad to say that the interview I had up in Dublin went really well and I was asked to go through to bootcamp with the rest of the lads. Bootcamp was a great experience and after raising some sponsorship here I am, on my way to Tralee,” he commented.

David, who plays and sings in band ‘Na Saoirsí’ will depart for Tralee on Wednesday next, 14th August and will remain there until at least the following Wednesday.
