BALLYBAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE SHORTLISTED IN IRISH ARCHITECTURE AWARDS 2013

The new extension at Ballybay Community College, a project designed by McGarry Ni Eanaigh Architects, is one of 33 projects shortlisted in this year’s Irish Architecture Awards, and has been described as “a wonderful example of how modern, contemporary design can be merged successfully with iconic 1960s architecture to produce one of the most elegant and harmonious buildings in the country”.

The Irish Architecture Awards, recently announced by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI), and in its sixth year, includes a popular ‘Public Choice Award’ that gives the Monaghan public an opportunity to have their say by voting for their favourite shortlisted project.

Monaghan and Ballybay people can vote for their favourite building online at www.riai.ie, and everyone at the Community College is hoping local members of the public will give the new school extension support in this regard.
