12 months of hard work came to fruition on Bank Holiday Monday last with the official opening in the village of the childrens playground and revamped all weather court.
 The opening ceremony was performed by Kieran Hughes, Darren Hughes and James Turley three county players from the village who were selected in recognition of their dedication and commitment to their county and club. In conjunction with the opening ceremony we held a Halloween childrens party with MC for the day our very own Sean Mc Caffrey from Northern Sound Radio. There was a Halloween costume competition and pumpkin competition with lots of prizes for the children. At the same time a football tournament was taking place on the newly revamped sports court with entries from local business – Mc Aree Engineering, Maguire International, Maggie’s Bar, Mc Cagues Bar Scotstown and Jacks Bar in Tydavnet.
