A large crowd attended the official opening of Monaghan Wellness Centre and Garden last Saturday afternoon. Monaghan Gospel Choir entertained prior to and during the formalities.
 Breda McKenna, acting as MC for  the day began by thanking everybody for attending. She along with other committee members, Collette Deeney, Shauna Farrell, Freda Fleming, Patricia Mc Elwain, Martina Grennan, Beggan founded Monaghan Wellness Centre last year. Breda gave a brief history of the Centre and thanked all those who helped get the service off the ground and those who are still helping. She outlined the various services operating from the Wellness Centre, paying particular attention to Crocus, the cancer support group, Life Support, an organisation supporting family and friends of people affected by suicide and Alcoholics Anonymous.
 Catherine Mc Mahon read the letter received from the Author, Emma Hannigan, who has survived cancer many times. In the letter she congratulated all involved on their hard work and dedication in getting the Centre up and running. She wrote that “the best thing that we can all do for one and other is talk.
