FINE Gael Dail deputies for Cavan/Monaghan, Sean Conlan and Heather Humphreys, in separate statements, have warmly welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton of an allocation of €7 million under the Disability Activation Project which will provide for total funding in excess of a half million euro under the Disability Activation Project for Monaghan Integrated Development Limited and Drumlin House at Cootehill.
Monaghan Integrated Development Limited is to receive €336,000 in funding and Drumlin House at Cootehill is to receive a further €208,000.
Deputy Conlan has described the funding as a wonderful boost toward tapping the potential of people with disabilities and creating incentives to have them fully participate in the labour market.
And Deputy Humphreys said the funds will be used to create linkages between employers and people with disabilities and will help to ensure that people with disabilities …
