DEPUTY CONLAN JOINS FG TDS' CHALLENGE TO CROKE PARK AGREEMENT
Fine Gael Deputy for Cavan/Monaghan Sean Conlan was one of eight TDs from his party who this week challenged the Government’s position on the Croke Park agreement on public sector pay.
An opinion article signed by the backbench Deputies was published in Monday’s Irish Examiner.
The TDs challenged the position the Government has adopted over the Croke Park deal, stating that there was a question mark over how savings were achieved by it, and calling for the system of pay rises and allowances operating in the public sector to be reviewed.
Interviewed on local radio about his stance on the issue, Deputy Conlan stated that the most vulnerable must be protected from future government cuts.
