With only a month to the big day our sponsorships are rolling in nicely. On behalf of the committee we would like to give a great big thank you to Petshop online, Ace cabs, Pinky & Perkies, Magills Jewellers, Eastern Balti House and O’Hanrahan Travel; also to a number of smaller donations for which we are truly grateful.
Now the long evenings are here it is time to dust off your running shoes and get limbering up for the Blackwater 10k. Registration will take place on both Saturday 12th May in the shopping centre 10.00am-5.00pm, Monaghan Sports Partnership Ballybay and in Gortakeegan/Rossmore on the 13th May 9.00am-11.30am.
In a recent interview with Patrick Cassidy this is what he had to say about the Blackwater 10k run.

Patrick Cassidy
How do feel about the race?
The Blackwater 10k is a well-run race and is in a great location.
What gets you motivated?
What gets me motivated is trying to better myself and my time. I always want to try and beat the time I had on previous runs. I also feel that it will always depend on the day and what the conditions are. If I lose the race I would be disappointed but if the conditions are great and I am in top form and I only finish in the top 10 well that will be just as good.
Who is your competition?
I don’t have any competition or anyone I run against. But I am the first to congratulate the winner of any race.
What are the pros and cons of the Blackwater 10k?
There are no cons to the Blackwater run it is a fantastically run. The race organisation is top form, great refreshments and a wonderful atmosphere I give it a top 9 out of 10.
The run is an amazing family day seeing mums and dads’ running with their kids round the forest park is wonderful. It is also great way to introduce children to running which is something I find there is not enough of. It is very important for children to get plenty of exercise instead of sitting in front of the television.
Check out the Blackwater 10k run on Facebook and watch out for updates.
