Damien won the gold medal in the under-19 boys’ 1500m walk, in a very respectable time of 8.38.07 minutes.
Both Alix and Damien have now qualified for the All-Ireland Indoor Championships to be held in Nenagh later this month. On hand to see the medal-winning performances were their coaches, Noel Kennedy and Geraldine McAree.
