A 32-year-old man from Inniskeen appeared at Dundalk District Court on Tuesday morning charged in connection with the death of a man in the Co Louth town in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Shane Rogers, with an address at Deery Terrace, Inniskeen, Co Monaghan was charged with the murder of James Hughes at Lis Na Dara, Carrickmacross Road, Dundalk.
Judge Flann Brennan acceded to the application of Garda Inspector Paul Kiernan on behalf of the State for a remand of the accused in custody to appear again at Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday next, December 20.
There was no application for bail, but Judge Brennan granted an application from Mr Martin Crilly, solicitor for the accused, that his client have access to medical and psychiatric attention while in custody.
