The excitement is set to go up another notch this weekend as we wait to see the nine remaining contestants perform in the Grand Final of Monaghan’s Got Talent. Throughout the last nine weeks of the contest each of the contestants have battled it out by singing and dancing to book their place in this Sundays Grand Final. This is the first Monaghan’s Got Talent which has proven to be a great success and has set new standards for all talent shows. Competition has been taking part in Glencarn Hotel where they have provided the perfect venue for Monaghan’s Got Talent.
Sunday will see the guest performance of the pupils from Scoil na gCailini, Castleblayney. With the girls performing several songs and dances previewing their forthcoming musical ‘Annie’ throughout the night. Nine year old Lisa Rose McMahon who achieved second place in the All Ireland Community Games representing Monaghan in the Under 14s Solo singing competition is part of this talented cast. ‘Annie’ will be held on the 3rd and 4th of February in Iontas Theatre Castleblayney.
The lucky winner of Monaghan’s Got Talent will receive an outstanding prize to the value of €10,000 which will provide them with an excellent platform promoting them as an up and coming artist. In this prize fund they will receive a cash prize on the night and also get to work with top vocal coach Dara Molloy from the acclaimed band ‘Who’s Eddie’ who has worked with many of Ireland’s top performers and bands. Dara has a lifetime of experience performing and singing leading to her current success as a top vocal coach.
Every artist needs a means of promoting their talent and who better to provide this promotional tool than Derek Dolan. Derek has worked with Google and Truvo Ireland and will set the lucky winner up with their own website which will be their Internet tool for promotion.
No artist would be complete without their own album and music video. Soundwave Recording Studio in Blackrock will be the venue for recording their eight track album. This top of the range studio has catered for many up and coming and successful musicians and singers in the last number of years. Soundwave Studios is fully kitted out with top of the range equipment to enable the winner to produce an outstanding album.
With their album recorded they will then be provided with a professional make over performed by former RTE make up artist, Patricia O’Donoughue in preparation for their debut video shoot with Valentino C-dot. Valentino has produced music videos for many artists which have appeared on MTV. With his many years experience working in television and radio Valentino will produce a cutting edge and captivating music video for the winner.
The Grand Final of Monaghan’s Got Talent will be held in the Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney this coming Sunday the 30th January at 7:30pm. The show will be hosted by Tommy Maguire and promises to be a fantastic night.
