The enormous effort devoted by the organising committee of the 59th Annual Tydavnet Parish Show, taking place this Saturday, August 21 at the traditional Drumshevra Showgrounds venue in Scotstown looks set to be rewarded by one of the most memorable and well patronised occasons in the event’s recent history.

A host of new features have been added to this year’s programme to augment the traditional bill of fare, and entries in all the main livestock and produce classes were reported to be extremely high as preparations entered their final stages this (Thursday) morning.

“There really will be something for everyone among the exhibits,” is the forecast of Show Chairman Peter Sherry.

Among a range of prestigious events in the competitive classes, much interest is focused on the destination of the accolade of The Choice of Champions Dairy Cow, on offer for the senior dairy champion and sponsored by Town of Monaghan Co-op.
